"David knows his stuff"

I'm responsible for maintaining purchase flow services and observability infrastructure that serves millions of customers, working primarily with Angular, React, Node.js, Kubernetes, and Cloudflare.

I'm a Software Engineer, 3D artist, app developer, hobbyist gardener, and homelab enthusiast. My journey began 13 years ago when boredom led me to discover a random PDF about OpenGL and GLSL. While most kids were playing football, I was diving into GLSL and C++ on my trusty 1GB AMD Radeon HD 7670M — then I discovered Blender and created some pretty cool projects .

My passion for infrastructure extends to my personal homelab, where I have a pretty cool SDN (Software Defined Networking) setup (read more), couple of VLANs, compute nodes, Proxmox virtualization, network-attached storage, an L3 load balancer and a 4G failover. It's a work-in-progress.

Throughout my career, I've specialized in modernizing legacy systems — breaking down monoliths into small scalable microservices, optimizing CI/CD pipelines to achieve up to 10x faster deployments, and ensuring infrastructure reliability in demanding production environments.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Newfold Digital, I maintain high-traffic web applications and backend services for major hosting brands including Bluehost, HostGator, Networksolutions, and Web.com. I rely on rules, automation and a monorepo to keep everything running smoothly.

Most recently, I've been leading an ambitious migration project—retiring legacy SunOS servers that faithfully served the company for nearly 40 years (longer than I've been alive!) and transitioning critical stuff to Oracle Cloud's managed Kubernetes platform (OCI OKE).
